Governor George Connor of Oregon (Democrat)Every four years the 50 Democrat and 50 Republican Parties in the USA meet in convention with delegates to choose their party’s candidate for president and vice-president. The President is the only person voted upon by the entire nation and represents all Americans. At the convention in the summer before the election in November, the delegates agree upon their political platform. This platform represents the promises they make concerning how their candidate will deal with various national issues such as immigration policy.
Your assignment for 100 points will focus on the differences in ideology and policy between Democrats and Republicans (Progressive Liberals and Conservatives).
The assignment is to describe and explain the perfect Democrat or Republican presidential candidate.
You can decide which party you wish to represent. Once you decide, write a one to two page, single-spaced essay describing the values and policy objectives of your candidate in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Please use sources I provide in class and on our website, including the textbook.
You do not need to go outside this class for information or use source citations. I have provided short informational videos discussing the differences politically between liberals and conservatives.
