Discuss the Application of Mary Follett’s Theory of Democracy to Voting Rights Act of 1965. The purpose of my term paper is to relate Mary Follett’s Theory of Democracy principles within the context of elements of the voting rights act and how true is the United States democracy as it affects its minority citizens ability to exercise voting rights and public participation in the election process. (1) Examine the historical reason for creating VRA of 1965. (2) Discuss the impacts of VRA since its passage into law on the equitable engagement of blacks in public participation of the governing process. (3) Discuss evidence of voter’s suppression from certain states following US Supreme Court’s 2013 decision removing section 4b requiring those states with history of racial disenfranchisement of blacks to seek preclearance from the department of justice for changes to voting regulations. A deliberate subversion at limiting blacks and other minorities rights to fully participate in the deliberative process of government a contradiction to Mary Follett’s Theory of Democracy under her Pre-Human Relations Theory SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Term Paper must reference works of the management theorist; Mary Parker Follett (1868-1933) relevant contributions to issues discussed in the term paper.
