Nine-year-old Wanda’s teacher notices that for the past few weeks, Wanda has not been talking to her friends and is always sitting alone in a corner. After talking to Wanda’s friends, the teacher finds out that Wanda’s sixteen-year-old brother was killed in a gang fight two months ago and her parents have since separated. The teacher talks to her friend Daphne, a counselor, to see if there is anything she can do about Wanda. Unit 6 Case Study Read the following scenario, and answer the questions following each section:
The Dosit Corporation is a chemical manufacturer, and its products are sold to other manufacturers and used in household cleaning products. The company has 290 employees with about 220 involved in the production process, 30 working as maintenance personnel, and the remainder in clerical, sales, engineering, and senior management positions.
The company has never had a safety manager before it recently hiring you. The company president instructed you to find out what is wrong regarding safety and health and then to fix it. Several binders and files have been given to you with the explanation that they are the existing safety policies and records. Looking through one folder, you find a chemical inventory list from two years ago that included 780 chemicals. You find no records of hazard communication training, and the existing written program is very minimal and inadequate. You also look at the MSDS/SDS files and find considerably fewer than 780 MSDS/SDSs.
Question 1. What steps should you take to bring the company into compliance with the HCS considering best practices?
You went on a tour of your company’s chemical processing area with the production foreman. As with any such operations, there are pipes going everywhere and numerous tanks. You noticed that few of the pipes and none of the tanks have visible labels indicating what is in the tanks or pipes.
Question 2a. Is this a problem from a safety or regulatory point of view? Why? Question 2b. What would be your recommendation on labeling considering the regulatory requirements?
You have just finished training the entire workforce about chemical hazards. The training was not well received by the workforce, and they generally appeared to be bored; end-of-class quizzes indicated that they did not really grasp the essential information. You do not understand how this could be because you carefully went over the MSDS/SDS for each chemical that a given group of workers were potentially exposed to and explained in detail the precautions they needed to take.

Question 3a. What most likely went wrong in this training? Question 3b. How could future training be improved, including the explanation of chemical hazards without specifically addressing each chemical?
During the inventory, you find a quart can of a chemical with a label in the maintenance shop. You find out that the shop personnel only use it occasionally and for unfreezing rusted bolts. They do not seem to know anything about the chemical’s potential hazards, and the wording on the container is not totally legible, so you are not sure what the hazards are either.
Question 4a. How would find out about the proper use, storage, and disposal of this chemical? Question 4b. How would you identify the chemical as hazardous, or as not hazardous? During an inventory, you come across an unlabeled five-gallon container of a chemical on which someone has written a chemical name. Question 5. What should you do, if anything, about this container?
Use complete sentences when formulating your responses, and use APA format when writing your responses. Your paper must be a minimum of two pages in length, not including title and reference pages. Provide examples in your discussions, and support your answers with appropriate references and in-text citations

A customer has written a complaint on your website about your company’s latest video game

A customer has written a complaint on your website about your company’s latest video game. The game content is too violent, she feels, for the rating that the ESRB assigned to it. Her middle-school age son was able to buy the game without parental approval, by saving his allowance and going to the store with her ex-husband. She found her son playing the game with his friends, and was appalled that such a product was not better screened. Your company produced the game with teens in mind, and was going for a higher rating. Your company was actually disappointed that the game did not receive the higher rating, because now there is a marketing problem since the rating does not match the audience. Your management is currently exploring putting a warning label on the game, but the initial run has already shipped. There is no way to influence the rating board’s decision short of recalling the game and re-releasing it with a different title (something your management won’t do). Address the customer’s concern by drafting a response post that you would use to reply to her via the website

A female telephone customer says the following: “Hey, I don’t want to be a drag, but I’ve been hanging on this phone line for 15 minutes. You people cancelled my call blocking service when I added voicemail to my system. What am I paying you for the call blocking now? I haven’t had it for three weeks, and I’ve been getting all these annoying telemarking robocalls at two in the morning, and I don’t even pick them up, you know, most of them are dead air or just a computer, and I know that if you pick them up. They just add your name to a target list and then they keep calling and calling. Some of them are fake charities and I don’t even want to guess where the money goes. I mean, if you read up on these things, what they say is that maybe ten percent goes to the actual charity and then the rest of it they just keep. All they have to do is buy an autodialer, and then maybe get a phonebook, and then they just start collecting money from these supposed donations. If I’m going to give money to a charity, I know they all have overhead, but I want most of it to actually go to the people I’m supposed to be supporting. So, yeah, I had like 20 phone numbers on the list, and I guess they’re all gone, now, when you cut off that service, right? What happens now? I didn’t write down any of the numbers, I just blocked them when they came up, and some of them I can’t get back because the callerID is spoofed — it’s a different number or a fake number that shows up when you see it calling, but you can still block it because the system knows about it, and how to see inside the fake number, but all those are gone now and I’ve been paying for the service for three weeks and getting the calls anyway.” Indicate at what point you would have given her verbal or nonverbal feedback, and what form it would take. Then, paraphrase her response, looking for the essence of the complaint. Imagine that you are talking directly to the customer as you type your response.

define a complex, abstract concept whose definition might be contested within a specific community that shares specific interests. Your task is to persuade your readers that the term is, in fact, contested, that defining it is important, and that your definition is reasonable. In order to accomplish this task, you will need to go beyond the simple and brief analytic definitions that are found in a dictionary. You may draw on published information, but your primary source of material will come from experiences you have had and hypothetical examples that you construct from your imagination to effectively illustrate the concept.

process of selecting an organization or agency for which to volunteer, and volunteering position itself. In other words, the purpose of this essay is to inform the reader how to volunteer through a specific agency in order to perform a specific volunteer task/job. This can be one that you have volunteered for in the past, or it can be about one that you would consider volunteering for in the future. The one major requirement is that you must be able to find source information for the agency and volunteering process on the Internet. If you currently volunteer to help clean your church or mow your elderly grandfather’s yard, I’m very proud of you, and that’s very admirable, but you can’t write about that. There is no agency associated with mowing your grandfather’s yard (more than likely). You must select a well-known agency, such as Salvation Army, Red Cross, Lee County Humane Society, United Way, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, etc. Then, you must select a way to volunteer within that agency, such as volunteer in the soup kitchen, food bank, thrift store, sort clothes, clean dog cages, etc. Remember, whatever the volunteering position is, you must be able to find reference information about it online

You have been appointed the leader of a team project. The team is made up of the people listed below. Identify which aspect of thecultural dimensions best represent the culture of each person. (Note: there are six dimensions; see pages 50- 60 in Adler). As the leader of this team you need to know some of the norms for the cultures from which the individuals come. Understanding how the cultural dimensions apply to each culture will help you work well with each individual. As a conscientious manager/team leader you should research this before you start the team project.
Note: create a chart or table (see below) for this section of the exam on a separate page. Do not submit this section — the chart/table — to Turnitin.  Everyone else is doing the same thing and it will inflate your rating.  List each person and identify which of the six dimensions applies. Yet, companies often have to take risks that could potentially jeopardize their cash flow (e.g., new projects, growth, capital budgeting, etc.). Assume you are the CFO of a struggling company. While you do have a positive cash flow, it is minimal at best. If something does not change soon, the company will go under. Fortunately, your product development team has just created a new product that will not only save the company from financial demise but will also revolutionize how the industry does business. The problem is that the product is still 2 years away from being able to be sold to the public, and you will run out of cash within the next 6 months. How would you propose obtaining the funds needed to keep the company alive and thriving for the next 2 years until you are able to see a return on the product development? How would you keep the stakeholders happy?

Extended definition essay on right to privacy

Extended definition essay on right to privacy
Your purpose in this essay is to define a complex, abstract concept whose definition might be contested within a specific community that shares specific interests.

The Dosit Corporation is a chemical manufacturer, and its products are sold to other manufacturers and used in household cleaning products

Case Study Read the following scenario, and answer the questions following each section:
