1. Choose a Quotation out of the story that you find is important to the plot or theme. This quote or passage should be no longer than a paragraph. Please make sure you include an in-text citation with the author and page or line number. The quotation needs to be at the top of your essay (single spaced) between the title and your first paragraph.
Remember that when you choose your quote or paragraph, make sure you pick a paragraph that gives great, insightful information about the character, or the story's moral statement, or the setting. Look for important words...why did the author choose this one word to describe a character or setting?

2. Write approximately two to three paragraphs on the Quotation's Content: Write a paragraph explaining how the quotation you have chosen is important to the story.
3. Write approximately two to three paragraphs on the Passages Form. Relate this passage directly to one of the literature topics we have discussed in the previous units: characterization, plot, setting, symbolism, point of view. How does the passage exemplify one of these topics.
4. Write a conclusion paragraph that summarizes the material you presented in your previous paragraphs
