Assignment: Historical Interview, Part 1 (self-interview or college aged student, 18-22 yrs old)
Overview:
Students will interview themselves or a college-aged student (18-22 yrs old) about their lifestyle growing up (exercise habits, nutrition, clothing styles, use of technology etc.) with a questionnaire that is provided.
Requirements:
1.Must be someone who is 18-22 years old
2.Must be submitted to D2L Dropbox (no hardcopy to hand in)
3.Must be 12 point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1in margins
4.Must be complete sentences
Optional (as in, you can choose to do these but do not have to):
1.You can use bullet points or numbers to differentiate each question and answer.
2.You can write this in an essay format without using bullet points or numbers.
3.You can add any pictures if the person has them (would need to be scanned).
4.You can pull relevant, historical information from that time period.
Questions that must be answered (order is not necessary):
1.Demographics
a.Name, age, gender, geographic region, relationship to the interviewer (you)
2.What was it like growing up where you lived?
3.What was exercise and physical activity like when you were young?
a.How has it changed over the years from your perspective?
4.What were your personal exercise habits when you were growing up?
a.Childhood
b.Teenage years
c.Young adulthood
d.Adulthood
e.Elderly years
5.What types of clothing was popular for exercising?
6.What kind of technology did you use when being physically active?
a.If they said they didnt have it (which is going to happen), ask them something like, how did you know how hard you were working out or how many miles you had run? Find out how they kept track of progress.
7.What kind of information was available to you about health and nutrition?
a.Find out about their nutritional values (these will vary based on location)
8.What is the biggest difference in physical activity from your youth to todays youth?
9.Is there anything you would change about todays society from a health and wellness standpoint? Why?
10.Is there anything else you would like to tell me about your lifestyle growing up that we havent already talked about?
