Explore attitude to death and dying,from historical,societal,personal an cultural perspective. under the value of therapeutic communication and developing skills which support individual in challenging situations. Recognize loss,change, grief, and the impact this has on individuals,families and carers. Demonstrate knowledge of empowerment and advocacy, with ethical dilemma and spirituality.Identify symptoms,their management and appropriate referrals. These are the module learning outcome if it will help.
PART1
Using theory and knowledge provide an outline of ways in which attitudes towards death and dying have changed over time and vary across cultures/societies.
PART2: Address the following with reference to a case study/experience from practice.
a)Give an overview of the person`s conditionand situation and demonstrate appropriate use of interventions and treatments to control symptoms
b)Consider the importance of positive working with the person and their significant others reflecting the importance of communications,empowerment and advocacy (choice)
c)Links should be made with supporting individuals through grief and loss
d)Make reference to legislation and policy which guides practice throughout.
