Anthropomorphism is attributing human characteristics to things or animals (American Psychological Association, 2010). Some authors write such phrases as the study examined, the article highlighted, or the book explained; however, these authors are attributing human characteristics to these things. To solve such issues, students may replace the words study, article, or book with the word author, writer, or researcher.
