Fleet Data Analysis

Fleet Data Analysis
Fuel Economy Modelling
You are required to analyse fuel economy data for this assignment and to assess the accuracy of fuel cost claims by employees at a company.
There are two types of data. The first is fuel economy data from the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA)1 the authority responsible for all vehicle testing and certification in the UK. This gives the expected miles per gallon for a large range of vehicles from 63 manufacturers. This is on 15 separate sheets, one sheet for each year of testing (2000 to 2014).
The second is data for a fleet of vehicles from an organisation, including claimed mileages and fuel costs by the staff (drivers). Your task is to analyse this fleet and determine the expected fuel cost (from the VCA data) and compare it to the claimed costs (from the drivers). This is on the sheet called Fleet data. The organisation is
concerned that some or maybe all drivers are claiming more than they should for the fuel they use on their journeys.
Part B Fleet Data Analysis
This data contains information on 170 trips made by employees of an organisation using company hire cars, of which there are currently 28. On each occasion the driver has driven a number of miles and claimed a fuel cost for the journey. Your task is to assess whether the claimed fuel cost is above or below the expected fuel cost, based on the VCAs MPG Imperial Combined figure for that particular car.
Note: 1 gallon = 4.546 litres
